Our local group interested in this is The Georgian Society, an offshoot of the Friends of the English Regency in California. We're something of a mixture of a Jane Austen society, a Georgette Heyer fan club and an English Country Dance group. It is an activity, due to reader crossover, to be often found at science fiction conventions. The vision of an elegant Regency lady waltzing with a tentacled green monster is delightful.
Our group meets for dance practices about once a month and occasionally holds other events — a tea, a ball, a croquet picnic.
